Great Urban intervention by ill Studio Architects, Nike and with collaboration of French fashion brand Pigalle to create a multicoloured basketball court at Paris, France. Pigalle Basketball Court is an amazing example of collaboration, Architecture, Design, Creativity and Art;  can create a better city; not only more intelligent but with spirit and culture that inspires us to create without limits.  Sandwiched between a pair of apartment buildings in the 9th arrondissement of Paris you can find the most colourful basketball court in the world at Pigalle Duperré.

 

 A spectacular mix of different colors and patterns take over both the floor and the surrounding walls. It’s a unique place where the Paris youth comes together to play, socialize and learn.s.

A couple of months ago filmmakers Sander and Bas Mutsaards (BeemFlights, Amsterdam) were in Paris and visited the basketball court of Pigalle. They connected with Pigalle crew who run the court and a very fashionable basketball store across the street. The vibe at this place is amazing. There was a good connection and we decided to create something together. It inspired the BeemFlights brothers to connect with their Amsterdam friends and go to Paris together, play the game they love and to use their creative talents to make this video. The spoken words in this film are provided by Maydien, who brings soulful hiphop to your ears in daily life. No Maydien without his favorite music producer Mitchell Yard, so he came through with some sick beats. Steven van Eck is an upcoming fashion photographer and made some amazing still images. sandwiched between a pair of apartment buildings in paris is the pigalle basketball court – where air balls and alley-oops meet artistic intervention. led by its basketball-fan founder stéphane ashpool, french fashion brand pigalle teamed up with parisian creative agency ill-studio and NIKE to spice up the site with a fresh and funky aesthetic. a grid of grape-colored gradients, sunflower-stained strokes, and bold blue hues blanket the basketball court’s walls and floor, surrounding players in the saturated and smooth shades of a setting sun.
