THE MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL FROM SOUTH OF WORLD

In mid-November 2010, the American musician Perry Farrell announced that the twentieth version of Lollapalooza festival would be held for the first time outside the United States; The site chosen was the Parque O'Higgins in Santiago, Chile (South America), on 2 and 3 April 2011. The seventh version of Lollapalooza Chile will be held on 29, 30 & 31 of March 2019; The  headliners will be Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, Twenty One Pilots, Lenny Kravitz, Post Malone, Sam Smith & Tiesto accompanied by numerous artists like  Monsieur Perine, Vicentico, The 1975, Interpol, Francisca Valenzuela, Gepe, Los Tres, Steve Aoki, Juanes, St Vincent, Ana Tijoux, Bring me the Horizon, Paloma Mami and many more. Lollapalooza Chile is a Santiago, Chile–based version of the popular music festival Lollapalooza. The annual festival launched in April 2011 in Santiago’s O'Higgins Park and features alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock and hip-hop bands from both Chile and abroad. Lollapalooza Chile returned to Santiago in 2018 and you can follow the show this weekend  in official Live Streaming via VTR.

The movable home for single home households

An Amsterdam real estate developer wants young people to occupy affordable, moveable homes on properties where building is stalled—and move when construction gets started again. Heijmans introduces a new concept of living to the market: Heijmans ONE. This special home offers opportunities to meet demands for qualitative and affordable rental housing, while at the same time solving a social issue.

Heijmans ONE intelligently combines two issues: a shortage of good temporary rental houses and the dreary sight of empty areas. Heijmans ONE is a beautiful and complete home that is placed temporarily in empty urban areas. The homes are also designed to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. The first wooden houses will use solar panels to provide power, and though they'll hook up to the city's water and sewer services, the goal is that they'll eventually go completely off the grid.

The trailblazing women profiled include well-known figures like primatologist Jane Goodall, as well as lesser-known pioneers such as Katherine Johnson, the African-American physicist and mathematician who calculated the trajectory of the 1969 Apollo 11 mission to the moon.

Millions of people around the world don't have safe water. World Water Day is March 22nd — a day when the world turns its attention towards the 750 million people who lack access to safe water. But every day of the year can be a Water Day. This Day is about focusing attention on the importance of water crisis and the theme for 2019 is ‘Leaving no one behind’. This is an adaptation of the central promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: as sustainable development progresses, everyone must benefit. – Marginalized groups – women, children, refugees, indigenous peoples, disabled people and many others – are often overlooked, and sometimes face discrimination, as they try to access and manage the safe water they need. This World Water Day, 22nd March, is about tackling the water crisis by addressing the reasons why so many people are being left behind.  TAKE ACTION!

THE OCEAN IS DROWNING IN PLASTIC

Whale Art Installation in the Philippines: A whale replica was unveiled on the beach of Naic, Cavite, South of Manila. Through the art installation depicting a dead whale choked by plastics, Greenpeace Philippines seeks to underscore the massive problem of plastics pollution in the ocean and calls on the ASEAN to address this looming problem on its shores. A massive whale is unveiled on the shores of Sea Side Beach Resort in Naic, Cavite.  The 15m x 3m blue whale, which looked to be in the late stages of decomposition, immediately captured the attention of nearby communities and beachgoers. As groups gathered to haul off the dead whale, they noticed that its entire body was made of plastic wastes found in the ocean. The slimy innards sprawling out of its’ underbelly was a mix of plastic bags, remains of plastic containers, sachets, bottles and more. Photos of this morose installation spiraled around social media on the day itself, sparking conversations on pastics pollution—a topic far different from the viral oarfish photos in Mindanao that were said to be a sign of the “end of the world”.

Este fin de semana comienza Rock en Conce (REC) en su versión 2019, El Festival gratuito al aire libre más grande de Chile, desde la mitica ciudad de Concepción "la Cuna del Rock Chileno." Este gran evento musical  reúne exelentes bandas y músicos que se presentan al aire libre este 16 y 17 de marzo en el Parque Bicentenerio en Concepción. Luego de su debut en 2015, Rock en concierto se ha transformado en uno de los principales eventos culturales del centro y sur de Chile.Desde entonces, el festival ha contado con figuras  internacionales como Mala Rodríguez, Molotov y Bersuit Vergarabat, entre otros; convirtiéndose además en una excelente vitrina para la escena musical de la región. Este año en "ROCK EN CONCE" seran miles los que canten, salten y disfruten con los grandes artistas que se presentarán este fin de semana en este Festival, entre los que destacan   The Cardigans, Babasónicos, Aterciopelados, Francisca Valenzuela, Lucybell, Alain Johannes Trio, Saiko, Anita Tijoux, Cami, BBS Paranoicos, Cachureos y muchos más.
