FESTIVAL CINE DE MUJERES

Estamos viviendo un momento de profundos cambios culturales. Desde Hollywood, el caso Weinstein, y los movimientos #MeToo y #TimesUp han hecho un gran trabajo de “des-normalizar” prácticas abusivas que se instalaron en el corazón de la industria del cine y que se han reiterado y replicado en distintos ámbitos sociales. Es tiempo para un profundo diálogo social. Por octavo año consecutivo la invitación del Festival Cine de Mujeres, FEMCINE es a exponerse a ese cine que mueve, que conmueve, que moviliza, que transforma. En momentos en que las relaciones sociales necesitan repensarse y reconstruirse, creemos que el diálogo es el único lugar posible para enfrentar este tremendo desafío y que mejor que hacerlo con películas en donde son las mujeres las que comparten su habitar, su mirada y su experiencia. En seis días, en seis comunas de Santiago de Chile, con múltiples actividades y funciones gratuitas, FEMCINE se instala como un lugar para encontrarnos, para emocionarnos juntos y para conversar sobre lo que nos distancia y lo que nos acerca, sobre lo que somos y lo que queremos ser.

THE MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL FROM SOUTH OF WORLD

In mid-November 2010, the American musician Perry Farrell announced that the twentieth version of Lollapalooza festival would be held for the first time outside the United States; The site chosen was the Parque O'Higgins in Santiago, Chile (South America), on 2 and 3 April 2011. The seventh version of Lollapalooza Chile will be held on 16, 17 & 18 of March 2018; The  headliners will be; Pearl Jam, The Killers and Red Hot Chili Peppers; accompanied by numerous artists like Lana del Rey, Mon Laferte, Imagine Dragons, los Jaivas and many more. Lollapalooza Chile is a Santiago, Chile–based version of the popular music festival Lollapalooza. The annual festival launched in April 2011 in Santiago’s O'Higgins Park and features alternative rock, heavy metal, punk rock and hip-hop bands from both Chile and abroad. Lollapalooza Chile returned to Santiago in 2018 and you can follow the show this weekend  in official Live Streaming via VTR; You can also watch the video on demand of your favorite artists.

"INTELLIGENCE IS THE ABILITY TO ADAPT TO CHANGE." Thank you #StephenHawking. Who has died on Wednesday at 76, was one of the most famous modern day scientist, who dedicated his life to unlocking the secrets of the Universe. Stephen  was an English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. His scientific works included a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was the first to set out a theory of cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He was a vigorous supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Este fin de semana comienza Rock en Conce (REC) en su versión 2018, El Festival gratuito al aire libre más grande de Chile, desde la mitica ciudad de Concepción "la Cuna del Rock Chileno." Este gran evento musical  reúne exelentes bandas y músicos que se presentan al aire libre este 3 y 4 de marzo en el Parque Bicentenerio en Concepción. Luego de su debut en 2015, Rock en concierto se ha transformado en uno de los principales eventos culturales del centro y sur de Chile.Desde entonces, el festival ha contado con figuras  internacionales como Mala Rodríguez, Molotov y Bersuit Vergarabat, entre otros; convirtiéndose además en una excelente vitrina para la escena musical de la región. Este año en "ROCK EN CONCE" seran miles los que canten, salten y disfruten con los grandes artistas que se presentarán este fin de semana en este Festival, entre los que destacan Fito Páez, Camila Moreno, Primal Scream, Sinergia, Javiera Mena, Ases falsos, López, Los Miserables, Como Asesinar a Felipes, Cuervos del Sur, Pedro Piedra y muchos más. Didi Chuxing took on Uber and won. Now it's taking on the world: Most extensive profile on Jean Liu to date as Didi plans to launch outside China soon. She lays out her ambitions to transform her company into a global tech and transport giant. . More typically, it will be a machine.  Backed by investment from some of the biggest global tech companies – including Apple, Tencent and Alibaba – Jean Liu’s Didi Chuxing defeated Uber in China. Now, the firm is leading the way for Chinese tech giants – by taking on the planet. Didi’s smartphone app currently works much like its US-based rivals Uber and Lyft, offering rides from drivers in their own cars or regular taxis. What sets the company apart is scale. With 400m registered customers in more than 400 Chinese cities, it delivers 25m rides a day, roughly twice as many as Uber and all the other global sharing apps combined. In the future, Liu imagines an even larger purpose, as Didi uses big data and machine learning to fix the many problems that snarl-up urban areas. “When you redesign the transportation system, you basically redesign the whole city,” Liu says. “You redefine how people should live.” Liu, 39, joined Didi in 2014, two years after its foundation, following more than a decade at investment bank Goldman Sachs. She has since become – arguably – China’s most prominent female tech executive, winning attention both for the group’s rapid expansion and her own far more personal battle, in overcoming breast cancer in 2016.  Jean Liu has a vision. "La Noche Valdiviana"

Tradicional evento se realiza desde la hermosa y turística ciudad de Valdivia: Esta masiva actividad, también conocida como “Noche Valdiviana” con la cual todos los años se conmemora el cierre de la temporada veraniega. Este año se espera que más de 250 mil personas asistan a la cita, con las aguas de los ríos Valdivia y Calle Calle como escenario principal, donde embarcaciones desfilarán engalanadas temáticamente Frente a la ribera sur del cauce ante millares de espectadores.Esta celebración se desarrolla durante el sábado de la última semana del mes de febrero,  siendo la actividad de culminación de la Semana valdiviana,  este año cumple 100 años llenos de historia, cultura y tradición;  caracterizándose por ser un desfile alegórico de embarcaciones mayores y menores, la cual es una tradición desde el siglo XVII, luego de una protesta de parte de los colonos en contra de la Administración Española, salen en barcos desde el río Calle-Calle, a protestar; volviéndose esto una tradición fluvial que ha perdurado a traves de los años, que actualmente culmina con un gran espectáculo de fuegos artificiales sobre el río Calle-Calle.
